J. Cecil Harman
DOVER – J. Cecil Harman, 87, entered into rest late Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Yorkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Bankert) Harman.
Born February 14, 1939 in York, Cecil was a son of the late John and Margaret (Orwig) Harman.
Cecil owned and operated Harman’s Garage. He was a member of Zwingli U.C.C. in East Berlin; East Berlin VFW; and Dover Fish & Game. He enjoyed hunting.
Cecil is survived by his daughters, Susan E. Gillespie and husband, Andrew, Jr. of Thomasville and Donna K. Sipe and husband, Sean of East Berlin; five grandchildren, Melissa, Patrick, Timothy, Robbie and Wyatt; a great grandchild, Riley; and two sisters, Sandra Guinn of East Berlin and Nancy Rummel of Hanover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara J. Weaver and two sisters, Arlene Innerst and Dorcus Harman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Cecil’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in East Berlin Union Cemetery. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Rhonda Feiser.
