James G. Reedy
YORK – James G. “Jim” Reedy, 87, formerly of Dover, entered into rest early Thursday morning, September 4, 2025 at his home. He was the loving husband of Gloria M. (Emig) Reedy. They were married 60 years ago on September 4, 1965.
Born January 27, 1938 in Stewartstown, he was a son of the late Alevia (Badders) Males and step-son of the late Charles Males, Sr.
Jim graduated from Kennard Dale High School in 1955. He worked at Lowe's, Simon's Camera Center and had over 25 years of service at BAE where he was a welding supervisor.
Jim was a member of the York White Rose Wanderers and a former member of Our Gang Riding Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His other hobbies included leather working and raising sheep with his son.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughter, Deb Gettys and husband, Rick of York; two granddaughters, Heather Goebeler and husband, Dan and Danielle Linebaugh and husband, Eric; four great grandchildren, Nittany and Emilia Goebeler and Aston and Kinley Linebaugh; and two brothers, Charles Males, Jr. of York New Salem and William Males and wife, Carol of New Park. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl Reedy and great grandson, Cannon Goebeler.
Following cremation, services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
