YORK – Janet A. Snell, 79, went to be with the Lord at 12:01 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at UPMC York Memorial.  She was the loving wife of Richard L. Snell, Sr.  The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 10, 2023.

Born March 30, 1945 in San Antonio, TX, Janet was a daughter of the late Karl H. and Gladys M. (Noel) Kuykendall.

She worked as a seamstress and was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God in York. 

Janet enjoyed crocheting, crafting and gardening.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Rita A. Grove and husband, Steve, Sr. of Kentucky, Connie L. George and husband, Raymond of Dover, and Richard L. Snell, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; five sisters, Margaret Myers of York, Irene Houston of Dillsburg, Rose Snell of Thomasville, Karen Lutke of York and Vickie Snyder of Dover; and a brother, Ronald Kuykendall.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Karl J. Kuykendall.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janet’s funeral at 1 p.m. and the viewing from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2160 Roosevelt Ave., York.  Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover.  Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Benny Ortiz.  There will be a luncheon to follow.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
