Janice R. (Trimmer) Hake

DOVER – Janice R. Hake, 80, entered into rest at 10:48 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Country Meadows of York.  She was the loving wife of Jay W. Hake, Sr.  The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage on November 8, 2020.
 
Born October 25, 1940 in York, Janice was a daughter of the late Ervin M. and Jesse E. (Seigman) Trimmer.
 
She graduated from Dover High School in 1958, worked as a sewing factory seamstress, and retired in 2004 from Dupont in Emigsville where she was a computer parts assembler.  Janice was also a homemaker and member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church.
 
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and gardening.  Janice also liked going to York County Carnivals with her husband and taking road trips with him across the U.S.    
 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Jay W. Hake, Jr. and wife, Tammie of East Berlin, Jonathan E. Hake and wife, Eva of Kapolei, HI, Jeffrey A. Hake and wife, Michelle of Mount Wolf and James M. Hake and wife, Michele of Dover; seven grandchildren, Alexander, Lauren, Nathan, Noah, Paul, Travis and Samantha; and a great grandson, Dominic.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy; two sisters, Grace M. Trimmer and Lois E. Shermeyer; and a brother, Rodney E. Trimmer.
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janice’s graveside service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Quickel Cemetery, 60 E. Canal Rd., York.  Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore.  Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving her family.
