Jason E. Gross
DOVER – Jason Eugene Gross, 77, entered into rest Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his home. He was the life partner of Janice M. Oaster and husband of the late Doreen A. (Fyler) Gross.
Born October 19, 1944 in York, Jason was a son of the late Norman A. and Edna M. (Spahr) Gross.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1962. In 1966, he earned his electrical engineer degree from Penn State University and went on to earn two master’s degrees from USC.
Jason had 30 years of service for Hughes Aircraft Company in Glendale, California where he was an electrical engineer. He retired from Raytheon Technologies in Tucson, AZ.
Jason was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover. He was also a member of Dover Alumni Association, Dover Historical Society and a life member of Penn State Alumni Association. Jason was an avid baseball fan, especially the L.A. Dodgers.
In addition to his life partner, Janice, Jason is survived by his daughter, Kristina A. Gross-Gray and husband, Jarvis of Brighton, CO; his son, Adam J. Gross of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Samson, Jonah, Julian and Dominic Morales, Alexandra Ann Freeman, Nicholas and Tyler Gross; and three great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Todd N. Gross and sister, Jesse R. Snavely.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jason’s memorial service at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 North Main Street, Dover. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Abigail Leese. Interment will be private in Suburban Memorial Gardens.
