Jennie I. Buchanan
YORK – Jennie I. Buchanan, 91, entered into rest at 11:50 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Elwood E. Harlacker.
Born July 7, 1929 in Shermans Dale, Jennie was a daughter of the late Chester C. and Ellen M. (Sheriff) Baer.
She retired from Boscov’s at the York Galleria Mall.
Jennie was a member of York Hiking Club. She enjoyed going to Fulton Opera House with friends, as well as spending time with her family. She also liked doing crossword puzzles, dancing and traveling.
Jennie is survived by two children, Ronald Harlacker and wife, Kristine of Renfrew and Sharon Zoccola and husband, Joseph of Norristown; three grandchildren, Brock and Blake Hamer and Molly Cupler; five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Baer of Carlisle and Franklin Baer of Shermans Dale. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded by two brothers, Glenn and Luther Baer; and a sister, Opal Baer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jennie’s memorial service at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Grace U.C.C. in Hanover.
