Jesse F. Runkle
DOVER – Jesse F. Runkle, 75, entered into rest 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at UPMC West Shore in Mechanicsburg. He was the loving husband of Dianne L. (Hake) Runkle. The couple celebrated 48 years of marriage on August 9, 2023.
Born November 9, 1948 in Dover Township, Jesse was a son of the late Elmer D. and Christina E. (King) Runkle.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Jesse had 33 years of service for PP&L on Brunner Island where he was a welder.
He was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791.
Jesse was a “jack of all trades” and as he would say, "a master of none".
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Kelly Marlow and husband, Darren of Dover, Stacy Miller of West York and Tammy Rodes and husband, Jason of Dover; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Lacie, Cody, Tyler, Ryleigh, Logan, Landon and Lukas; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Buhrman and husband, Robert and Dorothy Taylor, all of Dover; five brothers, Joseph Runkle of Mount Wolf, Charles Runkle of Fort Hill, Kenneth Runkle of Mount Wolf, Michael Runkle and wife, Joan C. of Manchester and Theodore “Ted” Runkle of Dover. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David and Edward Runkle.
Following cremation, there will be a service to celebrate Jesse’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Mountain Grove Chapel, 170 Andersontown Rd., Dover.
