DOVER – JoAnn Marie (Shepp) Burns, 76, of Dover, passed away, Monday, September 11, 2023, at her home in Dover.  She was the wife of the late John R. Burns who passed away on March 13, 2011.

Mrs. Burns was born August 1, 1947, in York and was the daughter of the late Donald Shepp, and Helen (Quickel) Figdore.

She graduated in 1965 from York Suburban High School.  She was employed by Dover Area School District for 43 years and Pat Morgart’s Bridal Shop for 35 years.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #360 White Rose. 

Mrs. Burns is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Panchisin and her husband Robert of York; her son, James Burns and his wife Heidy of San Antonio, TX; 4 grandchildren, Jana, James, Victoria, and Angela, three great grandchildren, Journey, Brady, and Emily, and her sister, Lou Ann “Mick” Houck and her husband Ronald from North Port, FL.
