Joan L. Lehman
DOVER – Joan Louise Lehman, 80, entered into rest at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late William P. Lehman, Jr. They were married for 33 years.
Born October 28, 1944 in Hanover, Joan was a daughter of the late Stewart O. and Beatrice V. (Summers) Fair, Sr.
She graduated from West York High School in 1962. Joan had 28 years of service for Hills Department Store where she was a sales clerk.
She was a member of the Postcard Club. Joan enjoyed collecting antique phonographs with her husband, as well as Thomas Edison collectibles. She also enjoyed bowling.
Joan is survived by her two children, Kathy Dowling of Dover and David Swemley, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Hanover; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ronald Fair of Spring Grove and Stewart Fair, Jr. of York.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joan’s memorial service at 2 p.m. and the visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St. Dover. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Officiating will be the Rev. Abigail Leese of Calvary Lutheran Church, Dover.
