EAST BERLIN – Joyce E. Nelson, 78, entered into rest at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford.  She was the wife of the late Robert E. Nelson.
 
Born July 22, 1943 in York, Joyce was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Beck) Stover.
 
She graduated from Central High School.
 
Joyce was a member of Bermudian Church of the Brethren.
 
She is survived by her son, Flint W. Harlacker and wife, Trudy of East Berlin; daughter, Teresa S. Miller and husband, John of Dover; three grandchildren, Corissa Groff and husband, Josiah, Becca Howell and husband, Taylor and Mason Harlacker; six great grandchildren, Gracie, Emma, Peyton, Leila, Josiah and Wyatt; a brother, David Stover of York; and two sisters, Martha Stover of Hanover and Mary Gross of Dover.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Barry Stover and a sister, Bonnie Firestone.
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joyce’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will in Bermudian Church Cemetery.  Officiating will be interim lead pastor of Bermudian Church of the Brethren, Don Hubbell.
