June M. May

DOVER – June M. May, 96, entered into rest at 4:05 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Providence Place in Dover.  She was the wife of the late Donald C. May.

Born June 11, 1926 in Dover, June was a daughter of the late Raymond F. and Edith I. (Lehr) Miller, Sr.

She graduated from Dover High School and retired from Columbia Gas.

June was a member Calvary Lutheran Church, Dover where she participated in the sewing ministry.  She was also a member of Union Fire & Hose Co. #1 in Dover and the fire company’s Ladies Auxiliary; Red Hat Society; and a former member of the Vikings Club.
  
June is survived by two sons, James M. May and wife, Linda and Jerrold M. May, all of York; five grandchildren, Melissa Peck and husband, Damon, Daniel May and wife, Maria, Jared, Jacob and Joshua May; four great grandchildren, Myla Peck, Riana Peck, Aidan May and Ethan May; and a sister, Louise I. Cookson and husband, Louis of York.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Philp H. Miller, Carl E. Miller, Raymond F. Miller, Jr. and Bernard L. Miller.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend June’s funeral at 10 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover.  Officiating will be her pastor, the Reverend Abigail Leese.  Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving her family.
