Junior P. Ruppert
YORK – Junior P. Ruppert passed away at Providence Place of Dover on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was born in York County on January 13, 1929, the youngest son of William H. and Mary Jane (Bush) Ruppert. He married Mae E. (Keiser) Ruppert on November 20, 1948 and they were married 72 years.
Junior is survived by a daughter, Darlene Snelbaker and a son, Brian Ruppert. He also was the father of Steven Ruppert, deceased. Junior was the grandfather to four grandsons and one granddaughter. He also had eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Junior enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served a two year enlistment, being honorably discharged December 1947. He worked nine years at New York Wirecloth. Later he was employed at Vend, Inc., Allis Chalmers and Dolomite Brick Co. His last employment was 23 years at Duplex Products from where he retired in 1991.
Junior and Mae enjoyed camping with family and going on bus trips with travel groups and polka weekend trips with White Rose Polka Club to the Poconos and Oglebay Park, WV in the Smokies. He and his wife were volunteers with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals for 11 years.
Junior was a life member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Junior’s graveside service at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The funeral procession will form at the cemetery’s Pennsylvania Avenue entrance. Officiating will be the Rev. Amy Northridge. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
