Kathy J. Brillhart

YORK – Kathy J. (Briggs) Brillhart, 68, entered into rest unexpectedly on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her home.  She was the loving wife of Dennis R. Brillhart.  The couple celebrated 38 years of marriage on October 28, 2021.

Born March 9, 1953 in York, Kathy was a daughter of Enola M. (Moose) Briggs of York and the late Clair G. Briggs.

Kathy graduated from Central York High School in 1971.  She had over 16 years of service in the PA Air National Guard with the 193rd Special Operations Wing.  She was later employed by the State of Pennsylvania.

Kathy and her husband were very active with the PA-V Chapter of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.  They were Chapter Directors from 2010-2012, Chapter Couple of the Year in 2013, District Couple in 2013-2014 and Region B couple in 2014-2015.

Kathy was a certified coach for Special Olympic Bowling and a certified Junior Bowler coach.  She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and mother, Kathy is survived by her sons, Stephen F. Altland of Mount Wolf and Jeremy L. Brillhart and wife, Terri, of York; daughters, Kelly L. Scrivens of New Cumberland and Erin R. Wilkes and husband, Ron, of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Stephen, Jr., Thomas, Madison, Kayla, Katelyn, Tamara and Riley; two great grandchildren; and a nephew, Christopher Briggs of York.  She was preceded in death by her father, Clair G. Briggs and brother, Gregory A. Briggs.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kathy’s memorial service at 7 p.m. and the visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover where veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.  Officiating will be family friend, the Rev. Jim Hollister, pastor of Countryside Community Church in Clarks Summit.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Patient Help Fund, c/o WellSpan York Health Foundation, 2500 S. George St., York, PA 17403.
