Kelly E. Ruth

YORK- Kelly E. Ruth, 59, entered into rest at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital.

Born October 31, 1963 in York, Kelly was a son of Jean E. (Edgar) Ruth of Spring Grove and the late Merrill E. Ruth, Jr.

He graduated from Northern York High School in 1982 and followed various job paths over the years including stints as brewmaster for two area brewpubs. 

Kelly enjoyed playing music and writing songs, some of which were recorded by various artists.  He also liked home brewing and winemaking and foraging for wild mushrooms.  He was an avid gardener and an excellent cook who enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Kelly is survived by a son, Brooks A. Ruth and companion, Cheyenne Fetrow of York; a grandson, Morrison Ruth; and three brothers, James T. Ruth and wife, Stacie of State College, Allen Ruth and wife, Desiree of Dover and Clark M. Ruth and wife, Barbara of Spring Grove.

Following cremation, services will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
