Lauren Lemkelde
DOVER – Lauren Lemkelde, 91, entered into rest at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at York South Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Esther B. (Grim) Lemkelde.
Born November 14, 1933 in Conewago Township, Lauren was a son of the late Harry and Catherine (Hughes) Lemkelde.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during peacetime.
Lauren worked as a machine repairman for American Chain & Cable for 30 years.
He was a member of Dover Bethany Global Methodist Church. Lauren enjoyed spending time at the river at his bungalow, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carol L. McDonald and husband, Barry of Dover and Penny J. Boyer and husband, Michael of York Haven; four granddaughters, Lauren Staub, Emily McDonald, Jessica Norman and Shelby Weaver; two great granddaughters, Alexis Boyer and Riley Norman; and a sister, Grace Laird. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lauren’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen Street, Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Bethany Cemetery, Dover, where military honors will be presented by The York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Shearer.
