Leo C. Miller, Sr.
DOVER - Leo C. Miller, Sr., 78, passed away on August 19, 2021, at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy and hard fought battle with heart disease.
Born November 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Vernon and Catherine Baublitz Miller. He was the husband of Caroleen K. (Knoke) Miller, to whom he was married for 56 years, and who was his loving caregiver the entire duration of his illness.
Leo attended Dover High School and enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, golfing, baseball and breakfast with his buddies. He was involved in the Central League as both a baseball player and manager for 26 years, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.
Before becoming self-employed, Leo was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. Leo also held memberships with the Dover Fish & Game Association, as well as the Dover Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, Leo is survived by his sister, Marie Elicker; children, Stephanie Crone, Leo Miller, Jr., and Melissa Krewson; along with six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lavan, Nevin, Brenton and Fred Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Leo’s viewing on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m., and service at 11 a.m. at the Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover, with the Rev. Eddie D.D. Miller officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Suburban Memorial Gardens, 3875 Bull Road, Dover.
