Leroy E. Crone

DOVER – Leroy E. Crone, 96, entered into rest at 4:02 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was the husband of the late Althea M. (King) Crone.

Born February 21, 1927 in Conewago Township, Leroy was the son of the late Robert L. and Mabel R. (Reever) Crone.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Leroy worked as a truck driver for Cement Express in York for 26 years and later worked for Envirite in York.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover and Harbold's Camper Club.

Leroy is survived by his son, Barry E. Crone of Dover; a granddaughter, Randi Jones of York Haven; a great grandson, Colt Jones; and two sisters, June Sunday of York and Evelyn Schaeffer of Dover.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline V. Haugh, Thelma Shearer and Ethel Senft.

Services for Leroy will be private.  Burial will take place in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
