DOVER – Leroy D. Hake, 79, entered into rest at 2:09 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Justine E. (Travis) Hake.

Born August 11, 1943 in Dover, Leroy was a son of the late Wilbur E. and Elsie M. (Wallace) Hake.

He had 30 years of service for Caterpillar where he worked as a machine repairman.

Leroy was a member of St. David’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Dover, Dover Ambulance Club, Central Mountain Trail Riders, Snow Shoe Rails to Trails and a life member of the AMA American Motorcycle Association.

He enjoyed ATV riding and having meals with his groups of friends several days a week. He also looked forward to the monthly Caterpillar retirees breakfast.

Leroy is survived by his son, Donald Hake of Dover; grandson, Tucker Hake; sister, Donna Staub of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hake and sister, Grace Stiffler.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Leroy’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at St. David’s E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Bethany Cemetery. Officiating will be his pastor, the Reverend N. Patrick Teaford. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
