Leroy E. Lefever
YORK – Leroy E. Lefever, 92, entered into rest at 5:40 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Lorraine M. (Smith) Lefever. They were married 57 years.
Born April 23, 1928 in York, Leroy was a son of the late Leander and Ruth (Bortner) Lefever.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Leroy worked as a supervisor for Bowen McGaughlin and previously worked in construction.
He is survived by two sons, Donnie Lefever of Florida and Edward Lefever of York; three daughters, Sharon Fry of Pleasureville, Millie Osterling of Camp Hill and Cindy Moore of Bedford; five grandchildren, Tammy, Todd, Gene, Terry and Tina; several great grandchildren; a brother, David Lefever; and three sisters, Rita Lefever, Louise Becker and Linda Anstine. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elwood, Glenn, Donald and Phillip Lefever and a sister, Janet.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Leroy’s graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Salem Union Cemetery, 2705 W. Canal Rd., Dover, where veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be Chaplain Larry Roscoe of Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
