Lewis E. Wentz
YORK – Lewis E. Wentz, 80, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home. He was the companion of the late Winifred L. “Winnie” (Moody) Dawson who died May 18, 2022. They were together for over 50 years.
Born February 5, 1943 in Alum Bank, PA, he was a son of the late Irvin and Elenora (Berkebile) Wentz.
Lewis was a U.S. Army veteran.
He retired from Harley-Davidson in York and was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791; Prince Athletic Association; and IAM Local 175. He enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling to Florida when he could.
Lewis is survived by his children, Pamela J. Wentz, Denise Davenport and Loran Wentz; his late companion’s children, John Ross, Rick Ross, Tim Ross, Teresa Ross, William Dawson and Sherry Dawson; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his companion and parents, he was preceded in death by his companion’s daughter, Debra, six sisters and a brother.
Services for Lewis will be private. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is assisting the family.
