EAST BERLIN – Lloyd J. Spangler, Jr., 87, entered into rest at 11:58 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at his home.  He was the loving husband of Reynolda “Tasha” (Ventura) Spangler.  The couple celebrated 11 years of marriage on May 26, 2023.

Born December 3, 1936 in Thomasville, he was a son of the late Lloyd J. and Pauline L. (Stough) Spangler.

Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy during peacetime.

He worked as a machine operator for Caterpillar and had also worked for Tioga Textiles and Loom as a repairman.

Lloyd was a member of Bermudian Church of the Brethren and Eagles of Gettysburg.  He was a handyman who loved tinkering and fixing things, cutting wood, mowing grass, and going to auctions.  Lloyd loved spending time with his family and singing with his wife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Bonnie L. Trott of Dover, Connie A. Harris of Manchester, Melinda A. Granger of Mamou, LA, Andrew T. Spangler of East Berlin and Ashley H. Long of California; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Dora A. Simmons of Hagerstown, MD and Rachael D. Resser of Dover; and a brother, Donald E. Spangler of East Berlin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty L. Rengier and brothers, Terry L. Spangler and C. Paul Spangler.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lloyd’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Bermudian Church, 279 Bermudian Church Road, East Berlin.  Burial will follow in Bermudian Church Cemetery.  Officiating will be family member, Pastor Jim Pooler.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
