DOVER – Lois M. (Snyder) Summersgill, 96, of Dover, passed away, Monday, March 24, 2025, at her home in Dover, PA.  She was the wife of the late Glenn B. Summersgill who passed away on March 27, 1964.

Mrs. Summersgill was born March 4, 1929, in York, PA and was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Nettie (Shelly) Snyder.

She spent most of her working career as a teacher in public schools.  She taught for Dover Area School District in Dover, PA and Central Area School District in York, PA.   She enjoyed gardening at her home.

Mrs. Summersgill is survived by her companion, Harry Mitzel of York, PA, her sister, Phyllis Forry of Spring Grove, PA, and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Fuller.

Funeral services and burial for Mrs. Summersgill will be private.  Her burial will be beside her husband in Gettysburg National Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
