YORK – Lorie E. Payton, 56, entered into rest at 5:10 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021 at WellSpan York Hospital.
 
Born June 24, 1964 in York, Lorie was a daughter of the late Edward H. Neiman, Jr. and Beatrice S. (Eisenhooth) Neiman Fry Clontz.
 
Lorie graduated from Northeastern High School in 1982.  She worked at WellSpan York Hospital where she was a registered nurse, most recently with the IV Team.  She loved caring for and helping people.
 
Lorie was known for her infectious laughter and generous spirit. The depth of her compassion and care reached beyond the boundaries of family and friends to touch all she met along her path.
 
Lorie enjoyed riding motorcycles and crocheting.  She was a very loving mother who always made sure to stay involved and supportive in her son’s sports and activities as he was growing up.  Lorie also enjoyed hosting cookouts for family and friends and was considered the historian of the family.
 
Lorie is survived by her son, William E. “Billy” Payton of York; her grandson, William E. “Earl” Payton; her former husband, William E. Payton, Jr. of York; three sisters, Lawana Reider, Linda Chambers and Luella Neiman; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Neiman.
 
Due to Pennsylvania’s current Covid -19 pandemic gathering limits, services for Lorie will be private.  Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving her family.
