Louella M. Wagner
DOVER – Louella M. (Leibenknecht) Small Wagner, 93, entered into rest at 5:05 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Pleasant Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Quintin B. Small, who died March 21, 1981 and Donald L. Wagner, who died February 4, 1995.
Born December 9, 1929 in Dover, Louella was the daughter of the late George and Janet (Neiman) Leibenknecht.
She graduated from Dover High School in 1947 as valedictorian of her class. Louella retired in 2008 from Pat Morgart’s Bridal Shop in Dover where she worked as office manager. She previously worked as an executive secretary for Jacks Fashion Store in York.
Louella was a charter member of St. David’s E.C. Church in Dover. She enjoyed flower gardening and, in her younger years, produce gardening. Louella took delight in watching the birds and was a dog lover.
Louella is survived by three children, Murray E. Small and wife, Karen of Boiling Springs, Karyl M. Miller of Dover and George T. Small and companion, Nancy O’Connor of Weigelstown; two grandsons, Matthew P. Small and Jason Q. Miller; two step-grandchildren, Tyler Baney and Erin A. O’Connor; and a step-great grandson, Jayden C. Meade. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Marc J. Small, who was killed in action in Afghanistan and a step-grandson, Travis Baney.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Louella’s Celebration of Life on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at St. David’s E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover. Burial will be private in Dover Bethany Cemetery with her pastor, the Rev. N. Patrick Teaford officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
