Mae E. Ruppert
YORK – Mae E. (Keiser) Ruppert passed away at UPMC Memorial on Monday, May 2, 2022. She was born in Freysville on February 26, 1930, the third child of the late John William and Cora Agnes (Young) Keiser. She was the wife of the late Junior P. Ruppert who died on May 5, 2021. They wed on November 20, 1948 and were married almost 73 years.
Mae is survived by a daughter, Darlene Snelbaker and a son, Brian Ruppert. She also was the mother of Steven Ruppert, deceased. Mae was the grandmother to four grandsons and one granddaughter. She also had nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Mae graduated from Central York High School in 1948. She retired from York Tool Warehouse in 1992 following 29 years of service.
Mae and Junior enjoyed camping with family and going on bus trips with travel groups and polka weekend trips with White Rose Polka Club to the Poconos and Oglebay Park, WV in the Smokies. She and her husband volunteered with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals for 11 years. Mae also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Conewago Garden Club.
Mae was also a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mae’s funeral at 10 a.m. and the visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover, PA 17315. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Donna Christopher.
