Marian L. Sowers
 
ELIZABETHTOWN – Marian L. Sowers, 84, formerly of Dover, entered into rest at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown Health Center.  She was the loving wife of Carl W. Sowers.  They celebrated 64 years of marriage on June 2, 2020.
 
Born September 11, 1936 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Mary (Chronister) Meisenhelter.
 
Marian graduated from Dover High School in 1954 and had been employed by Glatfelter Insurance.
 
Family was everything to Marian, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time with them cooking, traveling and hosting sleepovers.  Her family will remember her for her phenomenal cooking.  Marian also looked forward to spending time with her beloved group of friends, the “Golden Girls”.
 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Sowers of Bristol, CT, Melanie Sowers of York and Stephanie Sauvé of Mechanicsburg; a son, Craig Sowers of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Cory Sauvé, Matthew Clift, Zachary Sowers and Daniel Sowers.
 
Due to Pennsylvania’s current Covid-19 pandemic gathering limits, services for Marian will be private.  Burial will take place in Salem Union Cemetery.  Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving her family.
