Marily C. Brinton
EAST BERLIN – Marily Cecilia (Watson) Brinton, 78, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at UPMC Memorial in York, PA. She was the devoted wife of the late Stanley E. Brinton II.
Born August 27, 1947, in Philadelphia, Marily was the daughter of the late Herbert Mason and Rose Margaret (Senese) Watson.
She graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1965 and then received her bachelor’s degree in education from Penn State. Later in life, she proudly earned a master’s degree from Shippensburg at the age of 50. Marily spent her career teaching, focusing on early childhood development and special education. She was a lifelong teacher to her children, her grandchildren, and all children.
She is survived by her two adoring daughters, Heather Rose Konyar and husband Jason of Berlin, MD, and Holly Elizabeth Holmes and husband Matthew of East Berlin, PA; her six grandchildren, Ava, Jay, Ella, Lily, Piper, and Andrew; “The Sisters,” Beth-Ann Lieberman and husband Alan of Margate City, NJ, Janice Kinzer and husband Jim of Camp Hill, PA, Judy Watson of Camp Hill, PA, and Amy Williams and husband Frank of Grantville, PA; her final pet-loves Biscuit & Cinnamon of East Berlin, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends of the very best sort.
Known for her infectious laughter, Marily brought with her an undeniable charm and pure heart. She celebrated the simplest of delights and was especially fond of hummingbirds, donuts, and Maryland blue crabs. Most of all, she loved God, her husband Stanley, her daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, family, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Marily’s visitation at 10 AM and funeral at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Emig Funeral Home, 47 North Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in East Harrisburg Cemetery. Officiating will be the Reverend Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Christ U.C.C in Jefferson.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Marily’s church, Friendship Community Church, 3380 Fox Run Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
As a final note, the family offers this parting thought: one should never underestimate the power of faith and a strong will. In the last pocket of time before she took her first step with God, she created a sacred space in which those closest to her gathered in sadness, but also chatter, reminiscence, and laughter — the testament of a woman who took advantage of every living breath… until Stanley finally got impatient and told her to come home.
