Mary Lou Taylor
DOVER – Mary Lou (Oberlander) Taylor, 94, entered into rest at 8:14 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Providence Place in Dover. She was the loving wife of the late Richard E. Taylor.
Born May 25, 1927 in York, Mary Lou was a daughter of the late Michael L. and Kathryn (Urich) Oberlander.
She attended West York High School and had over 30 years of service for Chief Packing Company where she was an office manager.
Mary Lou was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover. She was also a member of U.S. Power Squadron, Viking Club and Sea Belles.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Taylor and wife, Nancy of Parrish, FL; three daughters, Kandie Reagan and husband, Dwight of Brownwood, TX, Karen Kimmel and husband, Bill of Dover and Kathy Fuertes and husband, Marc of West Chester; twelve grandchildren, Steven Reagan, Katherine “Beth” Gliksman, H. Benjamin Kimmel, Briana Hoover, Rebekka Swift, Kerri Wentz, Ashley Clawser, Aaron Taylor, Gregory Werner, Kelly Werner, Kevin Fuertes and Kristen Fuertes; 13 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Inza Oberlander of York. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Scott Werner and Michael Reagan; brother, Howard “Chub” Oberlander and his wife, Peg and brother, Bruce Oberlander.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary Lou’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Salem Lutheran Church, 2001 George St., Dover. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Officiating will be interim pastor, the Rev. Donna Christopher. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving her family.
