Melissa A. Whittington-Parks
DOVER – Melissa A. Whittington Parks, 45, entered into rest on Friday, June 21, 2024, at her home. She was the loving wife of Scott G. Parks. The couple celebrated 19 years of marriage on September 4th, 2023.
Born December 8, 1978, in Baltimore, MD, Melissa was a daughter of Carol A. (Harris) Wolford of York and the late Franklin T. Whittington. She was the stepdaughter of Jerry G. Wolford of York.
When Melissa was younger, she worked for Bank of America. Just like her mother, Melissa had a passion for gardening and being outdoors. Though Melissa did not have children of her own her yard was full of playsets and children’s activities as she always had nieces, nephews, and cousins by her side who she loved to the moon and back!
In addition to her husband, mother and stepfather, Melissa is survived by her siblings, Heather Whittington- Brewer and husband, Ryan of Baltimore, Thomas Whittington of New Jersey, Cindy Miller and husband, Bob, Geraldine Dolan and husband William, all of Dover; her aunts Tracy Harris of York, Linda Brant of Illinois, Peggy Dear of Delaware, and her uncle Charles Whittington of Baltimore; father and mother- in -law, Douglas E. and Debra Parks Sr. of Elkton, MD; brother-in-law Douglas E. Parks Jr. of Shrewsbury; sister-in-law, Michelle Moor, wife of the late Joe, of Thomasville; and numerous nieces and nephews; Mason and Madisyn Brewer, Frankie, Thomas, and Jordyn Whittington, Cody and Zachary Parks, Jacob, Matthew, Brandon and Kaylee Moor, Emily Dolan and Geri Beyer. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her nephews Patrick and Joseph Dolan, and her uncle, Larry Whittington.
Following cremation, services will be at the convenience of the family.
