Michael Steven Bisking
DOVER – Michael Steven Bisking, 71, entered into rest on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his son’s home. He was the husband of the late Sandra K. (Bender) Bisking who died January 4, 2021. They were married over 40 years.
Born March 22, 1950 in York, Michael was a son of the late Harry R. Bisking, Jr. and Ruth M. (Boyd) Bisking Smith, and grandson of the late Harry R. and Mary E. (Walton) Bisking, Sr.
He graduated from York High School in 1968.
Michael retired following 30 years of service for BAE. He also had eight years of service for AMF.
He was a member of York Coin Club; York Rifle Range Association; 13 th Ward Political Club; USW Local 7687; Spring Grove VFW Post 5265; Shiloh American Legion Post 791; and the Delphia Club. Michael was an avid hunter and former York County Pool Champion. He spent his time coaching youth baseball, hunting and bowling. Michael enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, including his grandsons’ baseball games. He was an avid Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Flyers, Oakland A’s and Boston Celtics fan. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
Michael is survived by his son, Steven M. Bisking and fiancée, Tana Phillips of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Lillia, Bella, Cecillia, Arthur, Ashton and Aysin; a sister, Laurie Mummert of Spring Grove; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, he leaves many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents and step-brother, Jeffrey “Scotty” Smith. Mike always had a story to tell and if he didn’t, he left you with one to tell.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael’s funeral at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. There will be viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Grace U.C.C. in Hanover.
