Michael J. Evans

DOVER – Michael J. Evans, 69, entered into rest on February 19, 2024 at his home in Dover, PA.  Born October 24, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, Michael was the son of the late James H. and Barbara J. (Lehman) Evans.

He graduated from Dover High School and earned his Eagle Scout rank through the Boy Scouts of America.  He went on to work for Preston Trucking for over two decades.

Michael had a deep love for animals, owned many cats over the years, and volunteered with the SPCA.  He enjoyed classical music, chess, reading about nautical history and watching science fiction shows.

Michael is survived by two brothers, John E. Evans of Harrisburg and Thomas E. Evans of West York; a nephew, Daniel Evans and wife, Megan and great nephew, Alex; and an uncle, Richard Lehman of York.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
