Michael A. Heindel
YORK – Michael A. Heindel, 76, entered into rest on Monday, February 26, 2024 at The Gardens at Gettysburg. He was the loving husband of Lois E. (Shuey) Heindel. The couple celebrated 55 years of marriage on May 5, 2023.
Born September 24, 1947 in York, Michael was a son of the late Alvin L. and Betty M. (Stump) Heindel.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.
Michael owned and operated Heindel’s Maintenance for 25 years. He was previously employed by York City Schools and later, WellSpan York Hospital.
Michael was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. He enjoyed woodworking and woodcrafts and would make various Christmas ornaments and holiday decorations for his family and customers. He was a season ticket holder for York Revolution and an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Michael E. Heindel and wife, Patrice L. of Dillsburg and Tiffani L. Murphy of Florida; a granddaughter, Carly and husband, Cody; and he was blessed with many loving cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael’s funeral at 2 p.m. and the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Fair of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church.
