Michael E. Wiley
DOVER – Michael E. “Sheepdog” Wiley, 65, entered into rest at 7:03 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Camp Hill.
Born August 18, 1955 in York, Michael was a son of Janet L. (Laird) Wiley of York and the late Glenn E. Wiley.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1973. Michael retired from Yellow Roadway Corporation where he was a mechanic and was previously employed by Consolidated Freightways. Following retirement, he worked part-time for Charlie’s Repair Service.
Michael was a member of Teamsters Local 776; Shiloh American Legion Post 791; West York VFW Post 8951; Rooster Club; and Kettle Creek - Tamarack Sportsmen’s Association. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, going to Pine Ridge Camp, fishing, hunting, crabbing and spending time with family.
In addition to his mother, Janet, Michael is survived by his son, Shawn M. Wiley and girlfriend, Dessie Henning and her daughter, Willow, of Dover; his former wife, Rayejean Y. Wiley of York; step-daughter, Briana Gruver of York; three sisters, Brenda L. Wiley of York, Stephanie A. Forry of Glen Rock and Melissa A. Harner of Littlestown; two brothers, Steven L. Wiley and James C. Wiley, both of Dover; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Christopher M. Wiley; and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael’s funeral at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. There will be viewings from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Grace U.C.C. in Hanover.
