Obituary

Mildred L. Byerts

DOVER – Mildred L. Byerts, 85, lifelong resident of Dover, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Normandie Ridge Rehabilitation Hospital.  She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson C. Byerts on March 17, 2011. They were married 53 years.

Born September 27, 1937 in Dover, Mildred was a daughter of the late Spurgeon “Pete” L. and Charlotte E. (Brenneman) Stare. She was a 1955 graduate of Dover Area High School.  She retired from Borg-Warner/York International following 24 years of service.  She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover and Union Fire & Hose Co. #1 Station 6, Dover Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Robert A. Byerts, husband of Lisa, and Ronald G. Byerts, husband of Deb, all of Dover, PA; three grandsons, Chad Byerts (Samantha Craley), Kyle and Ashley Byerts and Brandon Byerts (Noelle); and one great granddaughter, Lilly. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy McKeever; a brother, Richard Stare; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Albert “Fritz” Stare and his wife, Margaret Stare and a brother-in-law, Edward McKeever.

Services are private at the convenience of the family with burial in Rohlers Mountain View Cemetery. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. is serving her family.
