Nadean I. Merkert
DOVER – Nadean I. (Klinedinst) Merkert, 84, entered into rest Friday evening, April 17, 2026 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Merkert.
Born December 2, 1941, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Rodgers) Klinedinst.
Nadean was a homemaker who had also worked for York Casket Company and Wolfgang Candy.
She had been a member of New Creation Community Church in Dover and was a former member of Union Fire & Hose Company #1, Dover Ladies Auxiliary. Nadean enjoyed gardening and moped riding. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nadean is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Merkert and Michael Merkert and his wife, Milly Jo, all of Dover; six grandchildren, Eric Kendig, Brett Kendig, Kelsey Kendig, Duncan Merkert, Logan Merkert and Madelyn Merkert; and nine great grandchildren, Aedric, Sulivan, Nora, Rowan, Ember, Rori, Owen, Lori and Rylan. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Kendig and sisters, Sara Mae Sheppard and Marlene Honsermyer.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Nadean’s graveside service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in Suburban Memorial Gardens, 3875 Bull Rd., Dover. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Dellosso. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
