Nancy J. Platts

DOVER - Nancy Jane Platts, 70, entered into rest at 7:04 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at her home.  She was the loving wife of John M. Platts.  The couple celebrated 28 years of marriage on August 20, 2022.

Born March 1, 1953 in York, Nancy was a daughter of the late Jacob A. Berkheimer and Fairy J. (Kann) Stare and a step-daughter of the late Lottie Berkheimer and Ronald Stare.

She attended West York High School and worked as a secretary for 25 years for Platts Motors in Dover.

Nancy was a member of Dover Bethany Church in Dover.

She loved to cook, loved good food, a glass of good wine, m&ms, good music, the beach, and spending time with friends and family. She was the life of the party and will be greatly missed by friends and family.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Tabitha Allen and wife, Heidi of San Leandro, CA; grandson, Coen Allen; step-daughter, Jocelyn Platts of Dover; two sisters, Vicki Kehr and husband, Terry of York and Carla Green and husband, Steven of East Berlin; brother, Ronald Stare and wife, Rendy of Shiloh; two step-sisters, Sharon Stare and Joan Goodman, both of York; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and step-parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a step-son, Brandon Platts; brother, Jacob Berkheimer III; and two step-brothers, Lonnie and James Stare.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Nancy’s memorial service at 10 a.m. and the visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Dover Bethany U.M. Church, 4510 Bull Road, Dover.  Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
