Nathan R. Bolton
YORK – Nathan R. Bolton, 78, passed away peacefully at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Elvira (Brandt) Bolton with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born December 8, 1943 in Dover Township, Nathan was a son of the late Robert E. and Mary K. (Lillich) Bolton.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, Nathan had been employed by York Hospital where he was a medical technologist in the Laboratory Department for over 40 years. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Potter County. It gave him great joy to be Santa Claus for family and friends around the holidays which was reflective of his caring and giving heart and friendly personality. Nathan always had a positive attitude and enjoyed making people laugh, even into his final days.
Nathan is survived by a daughter, Tanya E. Witherite of Dover; a son, Eric N. Bolton and wife, Tiffany, of Tuscaloosa, AL; a granddaughter, Autumn Moser; two grandsons, Lukas and Drew Bolton; and two sisters, Arlene Knaub of Shiloh and Carol Matson of Dover.
