Nelson R. Hollerbush
YORK – Nelson R. Hollerbush, 87, entered into rest early Friday morning, January 17, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of the late Gloria J. (Truet) Hollerbush. Together they shared 41 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling, dining with friends, concerts, and jazz festivals.
Born November 2, 1937 in Dover, he was a son of the late Daniel R. and Mary R. (Lentz) Hollerbush.
Nelson had been employed at TMI. He was a member of the American Music Association, Hawks Club and Boy Scouts of America and was a recipient of the Honor Medal. He served on the Manchester Township Planning Commission from 1987 – 1991 and was a Manchester Township Elected Supervisor from 1991 - 1994.
Racing was a lifelong passion from the early days of Route 30 Dragway to annual trips to the Indy 500, and Nascar races.
Nelson was an avid jukebox and record collector, especially Doo-Wop and an enthusiastic concert goer of that era.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Arnold (of whom he shared a special bond) and Janice(John) Stitt.
Nelson’s funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be private in Salem Union Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Nathan Trimmer.
