Norma Jean Crone

DOVER – Norma Jean Crone, 89, entered into rest at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at ProMedica York North.  She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Crone and the late Sterling Bankert.

Born August 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert E. Hartman and Martha M. (Snyder) Hartman.

Norma Jean worked as a private secretary for Mr. Redman, president of York Water Company in addition to being a homemaker.

She was a member of Eastside Assembly of God in York.

Norma Jean is survived by five step-children, Gloria Bankert, Steven A. Bankert, Melody A. Evans, Aleta K. Leatherman and Nathan Crone; several step-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Reiber.  In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Yinger.

Per Norma Jean’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in St. David’s Cemetery in Hanover.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
