DOVER - Phyllis J. (Elicker) White, 81, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. She was born July 21, 1939, in Washington Township near East Berlin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Virgie (Ziegler) Elicker. Phyllis worked for many years at the York and Yorktowne Casket Companies before retiring in 2007 and also continued to work part-time for the York Fair until 2018. Phyllis enjoyed horses and spent many weekend nights at the Penn National Racetrack and eventually the OTB in York.
 
Phyllis is survived by her husband and best friend Albert and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage last September. She is also survived by a son, Bryan E. Elicker of Dover along with his spouse Beth; three grandchildren, Brittany Barker, Bryan E. Elicker, Jr., Brett Elicker; and five great-grandchildren, Colton, Isaac, Brynn, Gunnar, and Teagan. Phyllis was pre-deceased by four brothers and three sisters: Robert Elicker, Richard Elicker, Walter Elicker, Wilbur Elicker, Judy Marquette, Charlotte Elicker and Romaine Stine. Her surviving siblings include two brothers and three sisters: Donald Elicker, Glenn Elicker, Isabelle Wilt, Grace Livingston, and Doris Bankert.
 
The family wishes to thank the entire medical staff at Memorial Hospital who did all that was medically possible to help Phyllis during her last few days – especially Phyllis' granddaughter Dr. Brittany Barker – who provided compassionate guidance and wisdom to the family during this difficult time.
 
A celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Bible Church, 3600 Cardinal Lane, Dover, PA with a viewing from 1 – 2 PM. Emig Funeral Home, Dover is in charge of the arrangements.
