Randall Rebert Obituary

Randall L. Rebert

WELLSVILLE - Randall (Randy) L. Rebert, 58, died unexpectedly at York Hospital at 11:14 pm on Thursday, April 1, after fiercely and viciously fighting Advanced Stage IV MCR Prostate Cancer for six years. He was the wonderfully loving husband of Sylvia J. (Shearer) Rebert, to whom he was married for 36 years.

Born October 25, 1962 at York Hospital, Randy was a son of Dale R. and Carole L. (Russell) Rebert. Randy graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1980. He was a Plant Manager for RHI Magnesita where he worked for 30 years. Prior to this, Randy worked as a mechanic for H&H General Excavating, L&H Trucking Co., and York Candy Kitchens. Randy was extremely active coaching girls softball in York County and proudly served as the Varsity and Assistant Varsity Softball Coach for Dover Area High School as well as a coach for the former Dover Area Athletic Association (DAAA), and his own Dover Rebels Softball Team. Randy coached 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U girls softball teams loving the challenge of the game and being a mentor for many local York County girls including some who have moved on to play in college. Randy absolutely loved fishing anywhere he could, hunting, working on his 1966 Chevy C10 Pickup, going for unexpected and unplanned car trips with his wife, and most especially loved spending time with his family. He loved God and his country and was a member of the Wesleyan Church. Randy will be sorely missed by all who knew him and his great sense of humor especially when things looked tough.

In addition to his wife, Sylvia, Randy will be grievously missed by his children: Veronica R. Twigg and husband, Cameron, of Hanover; and Luke Rebert and partner, Ashley Lintner, of Wellsville; in addition to his grandchildren: Brynn Altland, Everly and Oliver Twigg; Ryder, Raidyn, and Remington Rebert; and Aubrey and Kendall Lintner; brother, Roger L. Rebert and wife, Sharon, of Hanover; sisters Jackie Rebert Stevens and husband, Scott, of Dallastown; and Jennifer Rebert Baney and husband, Brian, of Hanover; his nephews and nieces: Kiera, Colton, and Kaeana Rebert; Jordyn and Shea Stevens; and Ethan, Emma, and Ellieanna Baney; and great-nieces Kaya, Jadah, and Norah.

Due to Pennsylvania’s current Covid-19 pandemic gathering limits, services for Randy will be private.  Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
