Raymond D. Deardorff
DOVER – Raymond D. Deardorff, 91, entered into rest at 5:44 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Hospice & Community Care in Lancaster. He was the loving husband of Mary Ida (Gerber) Deardorff. The couple celebrated 72 years of marriage on February 26, 2026.
Born May 21, 1934 in Dover Township, Raymond was a son of the late Daniel L. and Claribel B. (Zeigler) Deardorff.
He graduated from Dillsburg High School in 1951 and worked as an assembler for Caterpillar. Raymond was also a farmer.
He had been a member of Bermudian Church of the Brethren in East Berlin and attended Cross Keys Village Faith Community for the past three years.
In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his grandson, Kory J. Deardorff and wife, Jodi (Weary) Deardorff; granddaughter, Kara S. (Deardorff) Koontz and husband, Kevin Koontz; four great grandchildren, Evelyn(Evie) and Levi Deardorff and Kolby and Kalista Koontz; and brother, Gerald Deardorff of York. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joel D. Deardorff; sister, Loraine Jones; and brother, Russel Deardorff.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Raymond’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Dover Union Cemetery, Dover. Officiating will be Pastor Georgia Markey.
