Raymond S. Wilt
YORK – Raymond S. Wilt, 90, entered into rest at 5 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at SpiriTrust Lutheran – The Village at Sprenkle Drive. He was the loving husband of Irene M. (Raffensberger) Wilt. The couple celebrated 63 years of marriage on April 5, 2021.
Born May 8, 1931 in Dover, Raymond was the son of the late Lester and Helen (Werner) Wilt.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1949 and worked as a heat treater for Caterpillar.
He was a member of Dover Bethany United Methodist Church in Dover, Dover Lions Club and Heritage Senior Center. Raymond was an avid golfer and also enjoyed camping and playing bingo.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Scott Wilt and wife, Barbara of Etters, Teresa Myers of New Oxford and Kevin Wilt and wife, Cindy of Lewisberry; five grandchildren, Ryan, Shea, April, Zachery and Aaron; four great grandchildren, Katelynn, Nora, Seth and Autumn; and two sisters, DeVera Wilt of York and Norma Craver of Hagerstown, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley and a sister, Gloria Zartman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Raymond’s graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 in Salem Union Cemetery, 2705 W. Canal Rd., Dover. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
