MECHANICSBURG – Richard A. Bankes, 64, entered into rest at 6:20 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born February 10, 1956 in York, he was a son of the late Robert H. and Ethel L. (Wagner) Bankes.

Richard enjoyed playing pool and baseball. He loved to watch WWE on television and NASCAR. His favorite NASCAR driver was Rusty Wallace.

Richard is survived by two brothers, Dennis Bankes and wife, Sharon of Manchester and Robert Bankes of Enola. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Wentz; and two brothers, Jerry Bankes and William Bankes.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Richard’s graveside service at 10 a.m. on August 12, 2020 at Emanuel Cemetery in Lewisberry. Officiating will be the Reverend James Winter.
