Richard E. Anderson, Sr.
YORK - Richard E. Anderson, Sr. 83 of York, passed away, Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Wellspan York Hospital in York, PA. He was the husband of the late Linda Kay (Hoffman) Anderson who passed away on April 14, 2021.
Mr. Anderson was born on December 21, 1941, in York and was the son of the late Ervin and Emma (Staub) Anderson.
He was employed by Cole Steel in York, Lehr Exxon, Days Inn, Larew’s Orchard, and Pennsylvania Auto Dealers Exchange (PADE). He was a retired firefighter with the Dover Borough Fire Company in Dover, PA. He was a member of the Ninth Ward Republican Club, and the Thirteen Ward Political Club, the Vikings Club and Greater Grace Church in Manchester, PA.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Sonjia Horn and her companion Dave of York, PA; three grandchildren; one great grandson, and his sister, Karen Lentz of Dover, PA. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his son, Richard E. Anderson, Jr; his sister, Delores Seifert and his brother-in-law, Bernell Hoffman.
His memorial service will begin at 12:15 PM, Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Greater Grace Church, 110 Meeting House Road, Manchester, PA. The doors will open at 12 noon. His burial will be private. Officiating at his service will be Pastor Larry Avignone. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
