Richard B. Jacobs, Jr.

DOVER – Richard B. Jacobs, Jr., 90, entered into rest on Friday, May 8, 2026 at WellSpan Surgery & Rehabilitation Hospital in York.  He was the husband of the late Bonnie (Waggy) Jacobs and the late Myrtle (Leese) Jacobs.

Born December 16, 1935 in York, Richard was a son of the late Richard B. and Elmira E. (King) Jacobs, Sr.

He graduated from Dover High School and retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service.  Richard previously worked for Capital Airlines.  Following retirement, he worked part-time at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.

Richard was a member of Bermudian Church in East Berlin.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and woodcarving.

Richard is survived by his son, Michael Jacobs of East Berlin; two daughters, Carolyn Bartek and husband, Peter of Ledgewood, NJ and Debra Yost and husband, Karl of Spring Grove; six grandchildren, Victoria, Peter and Jacob Bartek and Kala, Dillon and Andrew Yost; two great grandchildren, Cyrus and Micah; and his companion, Lucille Meyers of Dover.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Richard’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Bermudian Church, 279 Bermudian Church Rd., East Berlin.  Burial will follow in Bermudian Church Cemetery.  Officiating will be Pastor Gary Firster.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
