Richard A. Urich
LEWISBERRY – Richard Allen Urich, entered into rest on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at his home. He was born May 11, 1940 and was a son of the late Robert and Edna (Knaub) Urich. A life long resident of Warrington Township, he graduated from Northern School System in 1958. Richard worked as a welder and mechanic since his early school years for Bob’s Weld Shop, which changed to Bob’s Outdoor Power Center, until retirement for a time of about 65 years. He served in the Army and National Guard. He was a life long member of New Bethel United Methodist Church, serving on different committees and more than 60 years as trustee. Richard belonged to Cumberland Valley Antique Engine Association and Gravely Tractor Club of America and enjoyed attending engine and tractor shows. He had a nice Pedal tractor and Pedal car collection.
Richard enjoyed 63 years of marriage to Nancy I. (Schrum) Urich. He is also survived by his children, Keith Urich and his wife, Amy of Lewisberry and Carol Sowers and her husband, Dan of Camp Hill; his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Benjamin and Zachary Urich of Lewisberry; brothers, Robert Urich of Lewisberry and John Urich of Wellsville; sisters, Marie Urich and Mary Pelton, both of Lewisberry; and a lot of good friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Urich.
Following cremation, there will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service to celebrate Richard’s life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at New Bethel U.M. Church, 1485 Kunkles Mill Rd., Lewisberry, with Pastor Angela Nett, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. in Dover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel U.M. Church, 1485 Kunkles Mill Rd., Lewisberry, PA 17339.
