DOVER – Rita C. Shultz, 75, formerly of 86 N. Main St., Dover, entered into rest at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at ProMedica Kingston Court. She was the loving wife of Thomas E. Shultz, with whom she shared a birthday and a lifetime. They would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on April 15, 2023.
Born March 9, 1947 in York, Rita was a daughter of the late Robert L. Staley and Charlotte F. (Tusing) Miller. She graduated from Central York High School in 1965.
Rita was a homemaker who had also worked a number of years in two different sewing factories. She was a member of Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover, Ladies Auxiliary. Rita loved cats, especially black cats. She also enjoyed collecting and treasured her collections of the Pillsbury Doughboy, Mr. Peanut, and '57 Chevy replicas. And, she adored all things Elvis.
In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by two daughters, Teresa Shultz Fogelman and husband, Fredrick and Dawn Reimold and husband, Randy, all of York; grandson, Darien Reimold; two step-grandchildren, Katie and Zachery Fogelman; and a sister, Linda Cochran of Sunbury.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rita’s funeral at 2:30 p.m. and the viewing from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Cross, with ProMedica Hospice.
