Robert G. Bravinder

DOVER – Robert G. Bravinder, 81, entered into rest at 8:48 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy.  He was the loving husband of Sandra R. (Leiphart) Bravinder.  The couple celebrated 28 years of marriage on September 30, 2024.

Born September 9, 1943 in Mauston, WI, Robert was a son of the late Alfred G. and Vera E. (Northcott) Bravinder.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  Robert worked as a self-employed truck driver, or what he considered to be a “highway engineer”.  He later drove school van for E & B Transportation in Dover and was also a chauffeur.

Robert was a member of Paradise Holtzschwamm E.C.C. in Thomasville and Shiloh American Legion Post 791.  He was a sports fan, especially that of the Minnesota Vikings.  He enjoyed playing cards and going to car shows.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by a son, Joseph G. “Jay” “J.G.” Bravinder and wife, Shonda of Pfafftown, NC; a daughter, Jennifer K. Bravinder and wife, Amy Braymer of Denham Springs, LA; two step-daughters, Denise Lauer of Jacobus and Angela Morris and her husband, Scott of Stonybrook; three grandchildren, Zachary Bravinder and wife, Lydia, Courtney Bravinder and Olivia Hinnant and husband, Matt; two great grandchildren, Hailey and Graham Hinnant; two brothers, Jon Bravinder and Charles Bravinder, both of Minnesota; and two sisters, Sharen Wood and Kathleen Huber, both of Minnesota.  He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Beverly K. (Vivian) Bravinder.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Robert’s celebration of life at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Paradise Holtzschwamm E.C.C., 6777 Lincoln Highway, Thomasville, where veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.  Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Paul Guiliano.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
