Robert G. Stauffer, Sr.

DOVER – Robert G. Stauffer, Sr., 90, entered into rest Monday afternoon, October 30, 2023 at his home.  He was the loving husband of Joan E. (Bechtel) Stauffer.  The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage on August 2, 2023.

Born January 7, 1933 in York, Robert was a son of the late William and Catherine (Sipe) Stauffer.

Robert graduated from Dover High School in 1950 and attended Penn State York.  He retired in 1995 following 33 years of service as a salesman for Simplex Time Recorder Co.

Robert, a member of Cornerstone Bible Church in Dover, had a deep faith and was a man of God.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and boating.  Robert had a loving heart and was a wonderful husband and great father.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Beth E. Elicker and husband, Bryan of Dover, Robert G. Stauffer, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Spencer, OH, Karen E. Fink and husband, Robert of Lewisberry; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and his sister, Catherine Whitsel of York.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William, Charles, Richard, Jack and Donald Stauffer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Robert’s funeral at 2 p.m. and the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens.  Officiating will be Pastor Emeritus, Larry Carpenter.
